SSM, the Companies Commission of Malaysia, is a government organization under the Ministry of Domestic Trade, Co-operatives, and Consumerism. It is a statutory organization that administers and enforces legislation related to doing business and forming companies in Malaysia. Its main resource for entrepreneurs is a list of Malaysian acts and regulations pertaining to starting and owning/running a business. It also provides a list of forms from the office of the Registrar of Companies and from the Registrar of Business (i.e. forms and information for registering a business, etc.).

SSM products also include Corporate and Business Information Data (CBID), or company information and statistical data for business analytics purposes. It also offers several online services for facilitating procedures such as lodgment of a business or company’s legal paperwork and expediting the incorporation process.
